Repository Maintenance — 2026-08-11 Weekly Sweep

Weekly inspection report for the Seed Hypermedia knowledge graph. This sweep focused on recently modified documents in the activity feed, centered on the Design Team account (z6MkuBbsB1HbSNXLvJCRCrPhimY6g7tzhr4qvcYKPuSZzhno). Significant activity included layout redesign proposals (Phase I / Phase II), a new design meeting document, and content reorganization around make-more-space-for-content.

---

High Priority

1. Extremely long path name: 136-character URL — NEW

Account: Design Team (z6MkuBbsB1HbSNXLvJCRCrPhimY6g7tzhr4qvcYKPuSZzhno)

Document: phase-ii-proposals-to-make-it-easy-for-user-discover-what-seed-main-features-are-about-backlinks-link-anything-comment-anywhere

Full path: /design/stories/organization/make-more-space-for-content/phase-ii-proposals-to-make-it-easy-for-user-discover-what-seed-main-features-are-about-backlinks-link-anything-comment-anywhere

At 136 characters, this path segment is unwieldy. It makes URLs hard to share, type, or reference in conversation. The path reads like a sentence rather than a stable, discoverable slug.

WHY it matters: Long unstable paths hurt discoverability. No one can type or remember this URL. It also sets a bad precedent — if every child document gets a sentence-as-path, the repository becomes chaotic to navigate.

Recommendation: Rename to a short, stable path such as phase-ii-proposals or phase-ii-discoverability. The full prose description belongs in the document title (metadata name), not the path.

---

2–6: All previously reported HIGH issues — UNCHANGED (8th week for oldest)

All five HIGH priority issues from previous reports remain unchanged:

Supplements Knowledge Base — 8 dead child links (8th week)

Design settings→manage redirect chain — 5 documents (8th week)

Joel Serrano home — ~55 flat links (6th week)

Joel Serrano articulos — massive inline embeds (6th week)

Design Team home — duplicate Tech embed (5th week)

WHY it matters: The Supplements KB dead links and Design redirect chain are now entering their 8th week. Eight weeks of dead links and unnecessary redirects erodes trust in the repository.

Recommendation: Same as previous weeks. No new action to recommend.

---

Medium Priority

7. Duplicate images after Phase II embed — NEW

Account: Design Team (z6MkuBbsB1HbSNXLvJCRCrPhimY6g7tzhr4qvcYKPuSZzhno)

Document: Make more space for content

The parent document embeds the Phase II child document (which displays all its content, including sketch images). However, three additional images appear after the embed block closure — Bpp8RfdY, C77hAn8t, Jp-CWaDZ. The first of these (Bpp8RfdY) is the same IPFS image as the child's WjcyGe3h. The embed already renders this content; the separate copies after the embed are redundant.

WHY it matters: When the embed already shows all the child's content, the duplicate images after it cause the reader to see the same sketches twice. This is confusing and clutters the page.

Recommendation: Remove the three duplicate images (Bpp8RfdY, C77hAn8t, Jp-CWaDZ) from the parent document. The embed already handles their display.

---

8. New meeting notes not linked from design-meetings index — NEW

Account: Design Team (z6MkuBbsB1HbSNXLvJCRCrPhimY6g7tzhr4qvcYKPuSZzhno)

Document: Meeting Gabo and Horacio August 11th

This new document was created today but is not linked from the Design meetings Notes index page. The index currently lists meetings from June 17, June 29, July 21, and an Iskaak/Horacio meeting — but not this one.

WHY it matters: A meeting notes document with no inbound links from the hub page is effectively orphaned. Readers browsing the design-meetings index won't discover it.

Recommendation: Add an embed card for meeting-gabo-and-horacio-august-11th to the design-meetings index.

---

9–12: Previously reported MEDIUM issues — UNCHANGED

flexible-views stub + 166-char path (8th week)

import-organize title 204 characters (6th week)

Organization hub redirect embed (6th week)

borra test document (5th week)

Plus:

Dream Machines ~45-link flat query (2nd week)

---

Low Priority

13. Long document title on Phase II proposals — NEW

Document: Phase II proposals

Title: "Phase II - Proposals to make it easy for user discover what Seed main features are about, backlinks, link anything, comment anywhere. "

The title is 132 characters. While document titles can be longer than paths, this one reads like a paragraph. It also has a trailing space and a grammatical issue ("user discover" should be "users to discover" or "user discovery of").

WHY it matters: Long titles scan poorly in directory listings, embeds, and search results. A shorter title with the detail in the document body improves scannability.

Recommendation: Shorten to something like "Phase II — Discoverability Proposals" or "Phase II — Making Seed Features Easier to Discover." Put the full description in the document's summary/excerpt metadata.

---

14. No tags on new documents — NEW

Both newly created documents lack tags:

Phase II proposals — no tags

Meeting Gabo and Horacio August 11th — no tags

WHY it matters: Tags enable discovery across the repository. Without them, these documents are only reachable via their parent path or direct link.

Recommendation: Tag the Phase II document with design, layout, discoverability, ux. Tag the meeting notes with design, meeting-notes, layout, ux.

---

15. No summary on meeting notes — NEW

Document: Meeting Gabo and Horacio August 11th

This document has no summary metadata. It would benefit from a one-line description of the meeting's purpose.

WHY it matters: Summaries appear in embeds, search results, and link previews. Without one, the card embed shows nothing helpful.

Recommendation: Add a summary such as "Layout changes, navigation proposals, and Phase II discoverability workshop with Gabo and Horacio."

---

16. Empty paragraphs in make-more-space-for-content — NEW

Document: Make more space for content

Two empty paragraphs exist in the document: hcoL6Qi_ and qpTt2iaQ. They serve no purpose and add visual noise.

WHY it matters: Minor visual clutter. Low priority but easy to fix.

Recommendation: Remove the empty paragraph blocks.

---

17–19: Previously reported LOW issues — UNCHANGED

Tech document flat link list (7th week)

No tags on any documents (8th week)

New Site placeholder name (2nd week)

Lamport Ideas thin stub (2nd week)

---

Positive Observations

Active design iteration: The Design Team is actively working on layout and discoverability improvements. The creation of the Phase II child document shows good content refactoring instincts — splitting a long page into manageable sub-pages. The embed card from parent to child is the right pattern.

Onyx build-log is being actively updated with detailed development progress. The document links to its plan and maintains a clean chronological structure.

Stories index (design/stories) continues to be well-maintained with consistent embed-card patterns and activity-level organization.
