As Untitled Contact and Untitled Contact have discussed, sometimes we get notifications in the app before the email gets sent out, and we get a bunch of unnecessary emails.

    Improve App Notifs

This is generally good, that our app is working for notifs! But I think we can do even better.

      Sound Effect on Notification

If we play a sound (like discord does), then we can indicate to the user that something important has happened.

One question: do we play sound effects if any of your accounts is notified? Or, only if your active window accounts get a notification?

      Badge

Show the red dot on the application icon when you have unread notifs. This will cause OCD users to immediately go read the notification.

Similar question to sound effects: if you have an account who is not selected, and they have a notification, do we show the red dot on the app icon? If so, we may need more visual guidance inside the app to show the user where the "unread" stuff is.

    Avoid Email Spam

Two ideas for avoiding the annoying email situation:

      Delay

If we delay the email by some time, (for example 10 minutes), then the user has more time to read the notif in the app. And if the app reads the notif within the 10-min delay, or if they click "mark all as read" then we skip the email sending for that notif.

      Batch

If two notifications happen within the 10-minute delay, then we should send them both together so the user only has to read one email. This will be very nice when there are a ton of things happening in a short period of time (because you are going viral 😉)
