Here's the workflow that would make me happy:

<Keyboard shortcut to create document. Document draft automatically opens>
      I type my document
<Keyboard shortcut to publish. Skip the annoying publish popover which I never read>

This would allow me to create a document with my hands staying on the keyboard. Just like when I chat on discord.

For users with the mouse, I wish we had 1 click to get into a new draft. Currently: Click1 "New" dropdown. Click2 "New Document" within the dropdown. Click3 open the draft.

We could split the "New document" button into a two-section button with the import dropdown on the right side. So this removes Click2

I believe the draft should automatically open because the user has signaled they want to create a new document. This removes Click3

Eric proposes a dropdown button for document creation. We can create the subdocument with one click and the user clicks the dropdown for selecting different actions as imports. I like it. wdyt? Bea horacio Alex Burdiyan
